Museum Wines

Galafrey Wines has been making exceptional Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon which are prefect for the cellar. However not everybody has a cellaring program. Each year we have put aside a portion of these wines for ageing in our winery. We often save these wines for restaurants wine list and now available to you at home. We have done the aging for you. We are available to assist you with acquiring museum wines from across the Galafrey Wine range. The wines featured below are our current online selection and wines are under screwcap unless it says otherwise.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Deep red in colour it exudes excitement from the glass. Violets, cassis, and hints of dark chocolate from the nose. It shows all the classic cool climate characteristic of vegetable draw, earthy and mulberry leaves. On the palate it has dry elegant tannins nicely integrated with fresh sweet berry fruit.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Rich, dark fruits, sweet spice, currants and cassis, choc-mint and raisins. More medium bodied than expected, sweet fruit, sweet spice, fleshy then tight through its finish. Good, fleshy, fuller feel to this wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

35yo dry-grown vines have produced a wine that doesn't take a backwards step - but then that's the autocratic nature of most high quality young cabernets. Thus the blackcurrant fruit, bramble and earthy notes are all framed by firm tannins. Patience will be rewarded.
