If you love bold, full-flavoured red wines, you'll appreciate the character that comes from dry-grown vineyards. Unlike irrigated vines, dry-grown vines produce smaller crops and smaller berries, resulting in intensely concentrated flavours and exceptional quality.
Think of it like comparing a supermarket tomato to one picked fresh from a home garden – one is perfectly fine, but the other bursts with flavour.
At Galafrey, all of our red wines are crafted from fruit grown on our 49-year-old dry-grown vineyard in Mount Barker. The result is wines with depth, structure and remarkable ageing potential.
If you're looking for a wine to cellar, our Dry Grown Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding choice and can continue to develop beautifully for 15 years or more. Our region is also renowned for producing exceptional Shiraz, and we're proud of ours. Looking for something a little different? Pinot Noir 2023
A wonderfully savoury and expressive Pinot Noir with aromas of leather, mint, dried cherry, wild strawberry and subtle liquorice spice. Medium-bodied and finely structured, the palate reveals hints of tobacco and rose petals, balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish. Merlot 2021
Rich aromas of ripe plum, mulberry, blackcurrant and subtle leather are complemented by hints of spice and elegant French oak. The palate is beautifully structured, with concentrated varietal fruit, fine tannins and a touch of chocolatey oak, leading to layers of sweet red berries, delicate perfume and a long, supple finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Deep ruby red in colour, this Cabernet Sauvignon opens with lifted aromas of violets, cassis and subtle dark chocolate. Classic cool-climate notes of mulberry leaf, earthy savouriness and dried herbs add complexity, while the palate is beautifully structured with elegant tannins, vibrant sweet berry fruit and a long, refined finish that showcases the character of our dry-grown Mount Barker vineyard.

Medium red black. Pretty nose of candied cherry with background currant, spice & cedary oak. Lovely medium bodied style with a spicy red fruit throughout with fresh hints of cola & mint, satiny oak tannins & bright acidity.
