Mount Barker Community College Collaboration

A vibrant Rosé celebrating community, education and the future of Great Southern wine. Produced in collaboration with Mount Barker Community College, this special release is the result of a hands-on viticulture project inspired by the vision of Tony Smith and the next generation of local winegrowers.

Tasting Notes

Delicate aromas of rose petals, strawberries and Turkish Delight are complemented by subtle floral notes. The palate is dry, fresh and elegantly textured, with bright red berry flavours, soft acidity and a crisp, refreshing finish. An approachable and versatile Rosé, perfect for warm afternoons and shared meals.

Vineyard

Crafted primarily from Shiraz grapes grown by the students of Mount Barker Community College and supported by fruit from a nearby established vineyard, this wine showcases the unique character of the Great Southern region. The cool climate and careful vineyard management deliver fruit with vibrant aromatics, freshness and excellent natural balance.

Vintage Comments

The 2025 vintage spanned 40 days, with reduced yields helping to manage the fast-paced harvest. Despite intermittent rainfall, the season remained relatively dry following the previous year's warm conditions. Lower crop levels resulted in concentrated flavours and excellent fruit quality, producing wines with impressive intensity and balance.

Winemaking

Hand-picked Shiraz grapes were gently pressed immediately after harvest to produce a delicate Rosé style with minimal colour extraction. Fermentation took place in seasoned oak barrels using a minimal intervention approach, enhancing texture while preserving freshness and purity of fruit. The wine was lightly filtered and bottled early to capture its vibrant aromatics and lively character.
